Research in the Social Cognitive Development Lab focuses on how children and adolescents think about people and the social world. We are located in the Department of Clinical and Social Sciences in Psychology at the University of Rochester. The lab is supervised by Dr. Laura Elenbaas.
We are interested in developing concepts of fairness, perceptions of social groups, and peer relationships. Some of the topics we investigate include children’s perceptions of social inequalities, experiences of social exclusion, the development of stereotypes, and reasoning about rights.
